The playful and often over-the-top banter of It’s Showtime’s hosts are a familiar scene for those who have watched it for the longest time. The funniest of their jokes seem to always involve their personal lives and current controversies, which never fail to make the audience laugh.
In a recent episode of the ABS-CBN noontime show, the hosts teamed up and took a shot at Vice Ganda. Vhong Navarro started by saying:
“Oh, diba may babatiin ka?”
This prompted everyone to burst into laughter, leaving Vice looking flustered and embarrassed.
For those who have no idea what’s going on, the recent hot issue is about Vice Ganda and the PBA player Calvin Abueva. There have been rumors pointing at the closeness of the two, which eventually developed into dating controversies. With this in mind, you can understand Vice Ganda’s reaction on her co-hosts joke.
“Batiin mo na! Batiin mo na kasi,” everyone keeps on teasing Vice despite him trying to wave them off. The comedian exclaimed to Vhong, “Ang pangit! Ang pangit ng intro mo! Ang chaka mo.”
Vice Ganda eventually said her piece and greeted the person they kept taunting him about.
“Good luck mamaya! Si Calvin Abueva, nanood sila ng buong team nila, may game sila mamaya.”
While the comedian was saying this, her co-hosts were jumping up and down, looking suspiciously giddy, which makes us think–what is really going on?
Vhong continued to provoke Vice by asking who is up against Calvin Abueva’s team, Phoenix. Apparently, it’s Phoenix against San Miguel, which happens to house another one of their friends, Arwind Santos.
“Ngayon, saan ka uupo?” Vhong slyly asked Vice, hinting that the comedian is siding with a team (is it Phoenix?). Vice avoided another round of teasing by turning the attention to Ryan and saying, “Batiin mo siya, finollow ka na raw sa instagram.” This was a wrong move for Vice, to say the least.
Ryan then proceeded on telling them that he and Calvin are now close. Vhong, not keen on letting this chance go, asked him what he calls the basketball player. The Korean comedian immediately answered with, “Daddy!”
For those who have been following the noontime show, everyone knows that Ryan calls Vice ‘mommy’. Putting these two together, another round of Vice Ganda on the hotseat ensued.
“Hoy baliw! S***u** ka. Ang pangit ng chika mo,” Vice uncomfortably hit back.
The issue between Vice Ganda and Calvin Abueva can’t seem to take a rest, what with the continuous taunting from the comedian’s co-host, everyone is still wondering what the real score is.
Of course, the basketball player clarified that their closeness was due to the fact that they are old friends. Apparently, Vice is the ninong of his son, Deandre Calvin.
Nevertheless, Vice Ganda’s friends and co-hosts can’t seem to stop joking about it. Don’t you find Vice’s reactions funny?
