What do you call the sudden reappearance of a ship that had vanished 90 years ago? The Internet suddenly burst with life when they heard about the story of the SS Cotopaxi that set sail to Havana, Cuba back on November 29, 1925. It was supposed to bring 23,000 tons of coal to the foreign country but it disappeared without a trace. The missing ship believed to have carried 32 crew members before it vanished in the mysterious Bermuda Triangle.

Just when we thought that it was totally lost to us, the Cuban Coast Guard revealed that they’ve encountered an abandoned ship. It was first seen on May 16 but no one had a clue that it was the SS Cotopaxi. The local government attempted to contact anyone on the ship but no luck.

When no one answered their calls over the course of a few days, local authorities sent in patrol boats to investigate the ship. They were surprised to find out this ship fits the description of the SS Cotopaxi which was lost in the Bermuda Triangle.

Later on experts confirmed that it was indeed the famous missing ship.

After digging through some left-over debris, the patrollers found the log book of a Captain W.J. Meyer. They found genuine logs that dated back to the 1920s. The Online News Feed didn’t provide any more details that could have solved the mystery of the SS Cotopaxi’s disappearance. We still don’t know what could have held the ship back from its course for 90, long years.

There are still no answers on what happened to the 32 crew members. Did a bad storm cause them to go off on their track? Were the food sources depleted that’s why the crew didn’t survive? The Vice President of Council of Ministers, General Abelardo Colomé, promised to further investigate what had happened all those years ago, especially now that they have the biggest clue of all – the missing ship.
