Most of us usually start our days by eating our breakfast. We enjoy the good food that Filipinos enjoy most of the time for breakfast like sinangag with tuyo and suka or scrambled or sunny side up eggs. Of course, while eating our food, most of us love having something to drink like hot chocolate milk or coffee.
Coffee is a big part of most people’s lives.
Most people that you know could be drinking coffee and some of them cannot even start their days if they have not had their cup of fresh coffee yet. Coffee gives people the energy that they need to start their days and instantly boosts their moods.
Some of us like to make our three-in-one coffees because they are easier to drink and much cheaper, while some of us enjoy a freshly brewed coffee that could take some time to make, but still worth the wait.
In brewing coffee at home or at your favorite coffee place, a coffee maker is being used. Those people who have a coffee maker sometimes enjoy they coffee too much that they actually forget to clean their coffee machines!
Take a look at what happened to this woman who forgot to clean her coffee machine regularly.
A 53-year-old woman from Ohio named Stephanie Brauns loves making her fresh cup of coffee in the mornings. She enjoys making her cup of coffee by brewing it in her coffee maker, but all of a sudden, she got sick one morning.
Her morning sickness did not just happen for a day. She got sick every morning and she had to figure out what went wrong in her morning routine.
The 53-year-old Ohio resident noticed that she got sick every morning after she had her cup of coffee.
Since Stephanie wanted to figure out what was happening, she took her coffee maker to her office. She opened up her coffee maker with a screwdriver to take a look at what could be inside it that was causing her morning sickness.
When Stephanie opened her coffee maker, she saw brown mold all over the inside of her appliance!
Coffee makers, when not cleaned regularly, can be a good place where germs and bacteria can grow and live in. Since the coffee maker is warm and moist, bacteria and mold can grow in it. This bacteria found in coffee makers can actually be bad for people’s health, according to Kelly Reynolds, an associate professor at the University of Arizona.
Coffee makers are designed in a way that it is hard to clean, but that doesn’t mean that we should forget cleaning it.
Carolyn Forte of Good Housekeeping helped Stephanie with her problem. Carolyn said that vinegar can be used to clean the coffee maker because vinegar can sanitize the appliance and have the mold removed.
