Merlie Pamintuan, the mother of Kapamilya artist Marlo Mortel, is finally resting in peace after her courageous battle against uncontrolled malformed cell growth in the breast for 4 years.
The news was confirmed by her son who took to Instagram today to express his heartfelt message for his mom who was first diagnosed with the said illness in 2014.
“Mommy. I can’t believe this is happening. I’m in so much pain. I don’t want to, but I have to let you go. All you ever did was love me and take care of me. I’m sorry for all my shortcomings but thank you for fighting, until your last breath you waited for me.”
According to Marlo Mortel, his Mommy Merlie fought to live until the very end but it was her body that gave up.
“You were almost gone the other night but when I kept on talking to you, you responded and was able to stay with us for 2 more days. We were able to say our goodbyes. But this isn’t goodbye, I know you’re watching over us now.”
Moreover, the OPM singer could not help but get emotional as he bids farewell to his mother, whom he considered as the strongest woman.
” Kahit mahirap, kakayanin namin to ni daddy. Sobrang hirap ng pinagdaanan mo and you may rest now. My love for you is never ending. Si Jesus na ang bahala sayo at sa amin ni daddy. MAHAL NA MAHAL KITA.”
Accompanying the post was a photo of Marlo with Mommy Merlie, when she was still alive and well. Meanwhile, condolences from Marlo’s close friends in show business and supporters poured in, including one from his fellow celebrity Morisette Amon.
As of writing, Marlo Mortel’s family has yet to issue details as regards to his mother’s wake.
