Music is one of the most beautiful and common ways in which some people connect with. We always play and listen to our favorite songs and artists even while we do our daily activities. We relate to the song’s lyrics and just love how the song sounds.

We also prefer different genres of music, and in the Philippines, one of the most famous kind of music that we have is OPM.

Original Pilipino Music or OPM has been around for the longest time here in the Philippines. This genre of Philippine music has been around for years and has produced various iconic singers and bands.

We have singers like Sharon Cuneta, Francis Magalona, Ogie Alcasid, Regine Velasquez, and many other more who are the early OPM singers. Other than the solo artists, we also have bands like Eraserheads, APO Hiking Society, Side A, Kamikaze, and Parokya Ni Edgar who made iconic songs that we hear up to this day.

One of the said iconic OPM bands is Parokya ni Edgar. The band was formed in 1993 and is a band known for their famous songs like Buloy, Gitara, Inuman Na, Bagsakan, which features King of Rap, Francis Magalona and Gloc-9, and many other more.

Parokya Ni Edgar is hailed as the “Pambansang Banda ng Pilipinas” and its current members Chito Miranda, Buwi Meneses, Gab Chee Kee, Dindin Moreno, and Darius Semana. Three of its members are from Ateneo namely, Chito, Gab, and Dindin, while Darius is from UP and Buwi is from La Salle.

Currently, Parokya Ni Edgar is still active in the music industry after years of being a successful and iconic band. With the band’s popularity, they are not new to doing gigs, shows, and even concerts.

Just recently, Parokya Ni Edgar was invited by Zapro Bistro in Balagtas, Bulacan to play at their place. The restaurant released a poster that contained the details of the event and the rules that the conert-goers are supposed to follow. The event was free and was open to people 18 years old and above.

The event happened last August 18, 2018 in Bulacan. The event started out as a fun concert that most fans of Parokya Ni Edgar attended to.

In a video posted by a netizen on Facebook who was in the event last August 18, it can be seen that some people outside the concert venue started fighting. Some of them even threw the barricades set outside the venue. Some of people involved in the fight were even singing with the band while throwing the barricades.
