Hashtag member Nikko Natividad appeared on the radio MOR 101.9 to endorse his current movie “Bakwit Boys.” However, it suddenly became a gag show after radio host DJ Chacha requested him to drop a prank call on someone. The young actor then called his famous friend, Vice Ganda, and pretended that he was gay.
Nikko Natividad began the phone call and his voice was convincingly husky and broken, like he has been crying for a long time. He reached out to the comedian and said:
“Ikaw lang ‘yung naisip ko pagsabihan, kasi feeling ko, ikaw ‘yung makakaintindi.”
He further explained that he was having a hard time to come out of the closet and confess about his “true colors.”
“Nahihirapan na kasi ako, eh. Ate Vice, hindi ko alam kung bi ako o ano. Nahihiya ako, pero nahihirapan na ako sa gender ko. Hindi ko masabi kung bakla ako. Naguguluhan ako.”
The Hashtags member, who has a son and a girlfriend, admitted being attracted to fellow men.
“Pero hindi ko mapigilan bakit na-a-atrract na ko sa lalaki, na hindi naman dapat.”
To add another realistic detail, Nikko confessed going out casually with actor Marco Gumabao, who is also part of the squad that’s very close with the “It’s Showtime” host.
However, Vice Ganda tried to stop Nikko’s crocodile tears and advised him to take everything gradually. “Pwede ka pa naman as you are, yung ikaw, pero at least alam mo sa sarili mo at tanggap mo,”
He also reminded Nikko a couple of times not to be afraid nor sad, and that nothing is wrong with him. “Hindi siya sakit, hindi siya karma, hindi siya sumpa, it’s a gift.”
The “It’s Showtime” host went on to a more serious tone. He said that acceptance is only the key of being comfortable with an individual’s real gender preference.
The two settled to meet personally before dropping the phone call. Later on, that day, Nikko’s prank was soon found out by Vice Ganda.
