A mother’s unconditional love is the strongest force you can find in this world. A mother is able to sacrifice everything for the sake of her children, for the sake of her family. We many not understand all the ways they show us their love, but it is one of the things you can’t question about them. Through the toughest of times, our mothers are the people who would never, for a second, leave us to go through it alone.
Imagine when a child gets taken away from a loving mother. The heartbreak of living without their reason for life and the center of their love must be unimaginable. We don’t need to have children to know that it is one of the most painful things a person has to go through. That is exactly what Thabatta Viviana Lopez had experienced for six years.
Her story starts when she had a baby with her former lover, a Filipino man who is now living in Dubai. She wanted to take care of her daughter Ivee and bring her home to Mexico, but Ivee’s grandparents refused to reveal where the child is. The girl grew up in her Filipino grandparents’ custody, effectively taking her mother out of the picture.
For six years, Thabatta lived like this. Although she missed her daughter, she could not come back because she needs to work and support Ivee, even if it meant not being able to see her.
But a mother could only take so much heartbreak, and for Thabatta, six years had been enough. She finally flew back to the Philippines and sought help from the broadcast journalist, Raffy Tulfo, to get her daughter back. Through the radio show “Wanted sa Radyo,” the story reached the public’s knowledge as well as her former partner’s family.
In probably one of the most touching episodes of the radio show, Thabatta and Ivee were reunited. The episode showed how they spent the whole day together, a mother and daughter making up for the lost time. It was indeed an emotional episode, and netizens couldn’t help but thank the show for paving the way into this heartwarming moment.
But the true happy ending lies in the custody that was finally granted to Thabbata. Now, she can take Ivee with her and show her the mother’s love she’s been holding back for so long.
