Two fishing mates fished out two stray kittens off the lake in Alabama

Who knew catfishing could be taken literally? Fishing buddies Jason Frost and Brandon Key where just out and about on Warrior River in Jefferson County, Alabama hoping to catch some fish when they saw something a bit out of ordinary.

After hearing a splash nearby, the two men thought that they finally caught something. But after retrieving their fishing rod, they we’re confused by their empty baits. Soon after, they saw one tiny mammal swimming towards their boat.

“We turned around and didn’t see anything, but a few minutes later, we saw something swimming above the surface getting closer and closer.”

As it comes nearer, an audible meowing noise were heard by Jason. So, he immediately handed the phone to Brandon to record the seemingly impossible encounter.
A kitten was swimming towards them!

“Then I heard it meowing, and I could tell it was a cat. I was like, ‘Hey, Brandon, you need to record this.'”

The two men were filmed egging on the poor cat to swim faster as it reached the boat. Robert then fished it out of the water and placed it on the vessel where it started drying itself off.

Just when they thought that it was all over, Brandon spotted another tiny being jumped from the nearby island. A few minutes after, an identical orange cat appeared in the waters near their boat.
With the mind-boggling cats appearing in the lake, Jason exclaimed, “Is this not the craziest thing you’ve ever seen, we’re out here trying to fish and there’s cats swimming towards the boat, cause some [REDACTED] probably put them out here.”

As reported by ABC News, this story had a nice ending to it. When Jason and Brandon reached the dock after three more hours of fishing, a family who was standing nearby adopted the two poor kittens.
