At long last, Binibining Pilipinas International 2017 Mariel De Leon is set to enter the world of showbiz as she has finally signed a contract with a prominent talent manager, Leo V. Dominguez.
On her Instagram account, De Leon posted behind-the-scene photos during her contract signing. Joining her for this momentous occasion was her mother, actress, Sandy Andolong.
According to a report by PUSH, Mariel is now one of the newest talents under Dominguez who is also handling artists like Solenn Heusaff, Paulo Avelino, Lovi Poe, and Ogie Alcasid.
Her parents Sandy and Christopher De Leon are well-respected and well-known veterans in the showbiz industry, that is why, there is no doubt that being an actress runs also in her blood.
In fact, before she competed in Miss International, De Leon was casted as Coco Martin’s leading lady in the movie “Ang Panday” – an entry to the 2017 Metro Manila Film Festival.
It was revealed that she was expected to do a movie with Lovi Poe, with a working title “Latay”.
Mariel represented the country in the Miss International pageant which was held in Tokyo, Japan last November but failed to make it to the top 15. Nevertheless, that does not hinder the beauty queen to pursue another career path. As a matter of fact, this might be a new start for her to present her real self to the public.
She has been very vocal about her political and social views, becoming a trending topic on social media last year when her Twitter posts about the “Bloody Philippines” went viral. Her tweets received different reactions from netizens, she was even bashed days before and after the competition.
On a lighter note, many netizens still praised her for having a stand on the current issues in the country as well as being vocal about raising awareness to the public.
