After a busy day from work, there’s nothing more soothing than relaxing in your own personal space. For award-winning actor Empoy Marquez, his own personal haven resides in Bulacan. The accessible place is only an hour’s drive from Manila, but its seclusion provides Empoy a much-needed peace away from work.
It was way back in 2009 when the “Kita Kita” star acquired the two-storey property. Even though he owns a condominium unit in Quezon City, his home in Bulacan serves as a quiet recluse from the noisy and bustling city.
The simple yet elegant house incorporates Empoy’s personality in every corner. The quirky actor shows off his rounded persona in his living room, wherein the eye-catching centerpiece is his L-shaped couch. To add a bit of masculine touch, the white walls were decorated with navy blue floor-length drapes.
Even though the floor space is quite narrow, the living room exudes a vast feeling thanks to the large window. The window allows the room to be bathed in natural light, while the drapes provide privacy for the residents. A pop of color came in the form of the yellow ottoman from Dimensions.
Adjacent to the living room is the cozy kitchen, whose function and space were both put to the maximum. The tiled counter top matches the wooden cupboard, which hangs in the ceiling to provide an airy feeling in the area. To soften the features of the room, Empoy added a touch of nature with the help of a small bamboo plant.
Just like the rest of the house, Empoy’s bedroom also exudes a minimalist style. During the night, the actor relaxes in his sofa bed while watching movies in his flat screen television. If he wants a more peaceful time, he can also enjoy the view outside of his spacious balcony.
Even though the actor’s house is already a sight, Empoy is still planning to build his very own dream house in the future. In an interview with Real Living, the 36-year-old actor was quoted as saying:
“Simple lang na up and down. Basta gusto ko, ‘yong pamilya ko kasama ko. ‘Tapos, kunwari may laruan sa loob, basketbolan sa loob, gano’n. ‘Tapos, may pool. Gusto ko, may bukid, ‘tapos overlooking. Makikita ‘yong bukid mula sa bahay. Bukid, pero may swimming pool, hehe.”
