The Philippine film industry has its fair share of movies that tackle love affair and love triangle, so we can’t really say that the theme of “The Significant Other” is unique, per se. Since the nature of the movie is not new, what makes people rave about this? Perhaps it’s because the film is headlined by arguably three of the greatest actors of this generation.

The largest rival networks teamed up to offer the best in their bunch. Hailing from GMA 7, Tom Rodriguez and Lovi Poe played the role of the husband and wife, whose years of marriage will be tested due to an illicit love affair. From the Kapamilya network, Erich Gonzales plays the role of the mistress, whose forbidden love challenges all odds.

“Ang hirap niyang gawin kasi you’re in an unnatural environment. Siguro nasasanay na lang din tayo after a while. ‘Pag nakita niyo sa screen it feels so intimate, it’s so raw, and it feels so real. That’s the beautiful thing about it.”

We’re sure that this movie has a lot in store. Tom, Lovi, and Erich’s team-up will leave a lasting impression on the moviegoers that will follow them even outside the theaters. Indeed, this movie will make you ponder: How much do you know your significant other?
